Director of Music/Organist Position Opening
First Presbyterian Church is seeking a gifted and collaborative Director of Music/Organist to help lead and shape our worship music ministry. We are looking for someone who is comfortable at the organ and piano, enjoys working with choirs and other musicians, and can partner with the pastor and worship leaders to support meaningful, vibrant worship.
This position includes playing for Sunday worship and special services, directing vocal and handbell ensembles, coordinating special music, and helping care for the church’s rich musical tradition while also imagining new possibilities.

Music is integral to our worship services, but extends beyond this as well. We are honored to host many of the finest musical ensembles in our community including the Wausau Lyric Choir, Wausau Pro Musica, as well as the Wausau Symphony and Band as well as partnering with soloists and ensembles as well as our local music school, The Wausau Conservatory of Music. Our sanctuary features the rich sounds of a beautiful Yamaha grand piano and our 3-manual, 49 rank 1994 Schlicker organ which also utilizes some pipes from our building's orginal 1927 Austin organ.
