The week begins with a small, impromptu parade as Jesus and his disciples enter Jerusalem for the Passover Celebration. On Thursday night, the friends share a meal together while Jesus teaches them about serving others. The meal is interrupted by an act of betrayal, and Jesus shares the bread and wine of the new covenant with his followers. Following dinner, Jesus prays in a quite spot in the Garden of Gethsemane but is found and taken by an armed crowd. After condemnation by the council of elders and the Roman leaders, Jesus is crucified, his body placed in a tomb before sundown. But on Sunday, when some women come to put spices on the body, they find the tomb empty.
